TEACHER OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED - $3,000 Signing Bonus for TVI's working 30+ hours/week - The Carroll Center for the Blind

 

QUALIFICATIONS

M.Ed. with current Massachusetts DESE licensure (or eligibility) in Visual Impairments is required though students in need of a supervised practicum experience will be considered based on the recommendation and approval of their university advisor.  Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills are a must, as is a working knowledge of current mainstream and adaptive technologies and resources for teaching both low vision and non-visual learners in general and special education environments.

ABOUT US

Each year, the Carroll Center for the Blind helps nearly 1,300 blind or visually impaired children, adults and senior citizens gain the skills they need to live active and fulfilling lives. Our Newton campus houses our rehabilitation program, computer training classes, low vision store, and administrative offices. A large portion of our programs are services conducted in public schools, clients’ homes, and their communities.

The Carroll Center for the Blind is a private, non-profit agency, located in Newton, Massachusetts, which serves persons of all ages and stages, who are blind or visually impaired.
